劇団ダンサーズ旗揚げ公演
「動員挿話」
『集まると使える』（羽鳥嘉郎編著）では、「集まる」ことと「使える」ことが 問題化される。あえて単純化して、「集まれば使えるのか」と言い換えてみる。 その問いこそ、今やもっとも緊急性があると考えるからだ。「使える」が自明らしいメインストリームから遠く離れ、集会（アセンブリ）=「ダンス作戦会議」 に「集まる」人びとが、「劇団ダンサーズ」として岸田國士！を上演する。ダンスによる演劇？ 演劇によるダンス？ いや、そんなことより、「集まれば使える」 かどうかこそが問われる。

「劇団ダンサーズ」
「ダンス作戦会議」から生まれた、ダンサーによる演劇プロジェクト。
ダンスの枠組みの中で演劇的手法を用いるのではなく、ダンサーがあえて演劇を演劇として実践することで、演劇の中にあるダンス的な可能性を探る。
日本近代演劇の代表的な戯曲を取り上げ、メンバーによる演出・出演のもと順次上演を予定している。

岸田國士『動員挿話』（1927年）の舞台は明治37年の日露戦争前夜。出征を控えた宇治少佐は馬丁友吉を供として連れて行こうとするが、その妻数代は頑なに抵抗する。友吉は世間体や義理から、出征する決心を妻に告げる。自分は死を選ぶという説得にも耳を貸さない夫に、数代は絶望し立ち去るが・・・

この度、劇団ダンサーズの公演「動員挿話」チラシおよびウェブサイト掲載の内野儀氏の文章中、“「集まれば使える」（羽鳥嘉郎）のか？この問いにこそ、今やもっとも緊急性がある。” という一文がありましたが、これは、羽鳥嘉郎氏の著書名『集まると使える—80年代 運動の中の演劇と演劇の中の運動』（※）の「集まると使える」を内野氏が記憶違いから「集まれば使える」と誤って表記したものであり、さらに “「集まれば使える」（羽鳥嘉郎）” という表記の仕方も、羽鳥氏が「集まれば使える」という「発言」をした、あるいは「集まれば使える」というコンセプトを提唱している、というような誤解を招きかねない表記になってしまった、と認識いたします。
これは劇団ダンサーズのメンバー全員の確認・認識不足によって起きたことであり、一同深く反省しております。羽鳥嘉郎氏および当該書籍に関わった方々、また、チラシを手にとってくださった方・ウェブの情報を閲覧された方に対しても深くお詫び申し上げます。大変申し訳ございませんでした。
つきましては、内野氏の文章も、ご本人の加筆・修正による上記の文章に差し替えさせていただきました。

“DANCERS Drama company”
is the drama project by dancers, which sprung from “Dance Strategy Meeting”. It explores the possibility of dance within dramas, not by using theatrical methodology in the framework of dance but by practicing drama as it is.
It aims at performing several representative Japanese modern plays in chronological order, by the members’ own direction and performance.

Kunio Kishida (岸田 國士 1890-1954) was one of the most prominent Japanese dramatists and writers of the early 20th century and is regarded as one of the founders of modern Japanese drama.
“An episode of mobilization”(Douin-Souwa, 動員挿話, 1927) is a story set in 1904 Japan, just before the Russo-Japanese War. Major Uji tries to take his stableman, Tomokichi to the front as his attendant, but Tomokichi’s wife, Kazuyo denies the offer emphatically. Tomokichi still makes up his mind to go to war regarding his reputation and the debt to his master. He wouldn’t hear his wife’s persuasion that she dares to choose death. Kazuyo leaves in despair and….
