2 ピダハンの「見る」
ここでいったん寄り道して、アマゾン原住民ピダハンの言語と文化を調査研究した書籍『ピダハン-言語本能を超える文化と世界観』（ダニエル・L・エヴェレット）の一部を紹介し、「見る」ということについて考えてみたい。
・現実／夢
ブラジル、アマゾンのジャングルで狩猟生活を営む原住民ピダハンは、文字や宗教の存在しない、極めて特異な言語・思考を持っている。彼らは自分が直接見聞きしたことしか信じないし話題にもしない。したがって彼らの社会には、神話や歴史、将来の計画も存在しない。
しかし一方で、彼らが「見る」ことのできる内容は多様である。例えば、彼らは寝ている間に見る”夢”も、自分が「見た」ことととして、現実と全く同じように語る。ピダハンの「見る」経験にはいくつかの種類が含まれているようだ。いわゆる現実に見えている出来事、現実の中で想起されるイメージや錯覚、睡眠中の夢、誰かが演じる内容。それらすべてを彼らは区別なく「見る」。
年をまたいでしまったが、2018年8月に見たAokid×篠田千明「Tiger, Tiger」についての記録と感想、とそれに関連した雑感、その１。

今年の８月、バンコクにて気になったものの一つは、通りのあちこちで見かける屋台のディスプレイの美しさと機能性だった。効率よく運ぶこと、客の購買欲をそそること、手に取りやすく配置することなど、いくつかの機能を同時に成り立たせる必要が、それぞれの売り手の創意工夫と独特の形を作り出している。
もっと写真を撮ればよかった。ちゃんと調べたら、いくつかの傾向や分類が見えてきそう。
During my stay in Bangkok this August, what attracted me most was the functionality and the beauty of the stalls on the streets.
It must be the needs to balance several functions; to carry stuff efficiently, to arouse customer interest, and to place goods in easy reach, which produces the ingenuity of the sellers and the original forms of the stalls.
It would be interesting to do more research to find some classification or tendency…
